Thomas remarried and was in Crenshaw Co. in the latter part of 1880. Was Daniel J. Williams his son? He lived in Henry Co. and is buried in Dothan, but has a child buried by Amanda J. in Gunn's Chapel. Thanks

    1. [WILLIAMS] Kids, don't make me come down there...
    2. Dear cousins, My now-passed dad, a Williams, would tell us that before we say anything to anybody, make sure it is true, make sure it is kind, and make sure you really need to say it. One-upping by reposting unsubscribes isn't really necessary, and definitely not kind. Please remember how lucky we are to have the chance to network with each other. Ok, I'm ready for my mailbox to be flooded with multiple posts, but be prepared to sit at the kiddies table at the reunion... Always, Rosie

    1. [WILLIAMS] 6 daughters of Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS/Sgt.) & wife, Tabitha WILLIAMS
    2. Hello, My post today is regarding: Re: 6 daughters of Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS/Sgt.) and wife, Tabitha WILLIAMS 6 possibilities for 6 total possible sisters: (1.) Kitty EARLE, b: Abt. 1795 (2.) Virginia/Virginia Elizabeth? EARLE, b: 1784 (3.) Elizabeth EARLE, b: Abt. 1795 (4.) Sarah A. EARLE, b: Bet. 1784-1805 (5.) Mary Ann EARLE, b: 1804 (6.) Elvinia Ewing EARLE, b: Bet. 1784-1705 Main Surnames involved: EARLE, WILLIAMS, ATCHISON/ATCHESON, JENNINGS, HOLBROOK Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS/Sgt.) (2nd son of his name) son of Elizabeth HOL(D)BROOK & (Major) Samuel EARLE, III .........(1st wife was Anna SORRELL) .............(parents of 1st son named Samuel EARLE, IV, ..............born: abt. 1727, died: abt. 1752, md: Miss ? PERKINS) .........(have names for other marriages of Elizabeth but not handy) son of Phillis BENNETT & Samuel EARLE, II .........(father believed to be: John BENNETT ..........& stepmother: Mrs. Mattilda ALLERTON EARLE RUST) son of Bridget HALE(S) & Samuel EARLE, I ..............(parents believed to be: Thomas HALE(S) & Thomasina DOWCETT) .........(2nd wife, Mattilda ALLERTON .............1st husb: Samuel EARLE, I .............2nd husb: William RUST .............3rd husb: John BENNETT) son of (Sir) John EARLE & Mary SYMONS/SYMONDS .........(2nd wife, Elizabeth ?/CAUSEY .............1st husb: ? ?/CAUSEY .............2nd husb: ? HOWELL .............3rd husb: (Sir) John EARLE .............4th husb: William CLEMENT(S) I am trying to make some headway on the sisters of my paternal 3rd great grandmother, Kitty EARLE, born: Abt. 1795, who married as the 1st wife of Bailey JENNINGS, born: Abt. 1789 in VA, md: 1st wife, Kitty EARLE on December 21, 1811 in Christian County, Kentucky, (later became Caldwell County, Kentucky.) Bailey JENNINGS was the Justice of the Peace in Covington County, Mississippi and later married 2nd wife, Mrs. Sarah "Sally" LEA LEE, (maiden name was LEA and married 1st husband, William LEE, son of Needham LEE, Sr. of Simpson Co., MS.) Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS/Sgt.,) (2nd son of his name,) born: January 10, 1760 at "Town Run" Plantation, Fauquier County, Virginia, was the son of (Major) Samuel EARLE, III, born: Abt. 1692 in Westmoreland County, Virginia, and his 2nd wife, Elizabeth HOLBROOK, born: Abt. 1733 in Prince William County, Virginia. This Samuel EARLE, IV married wife, Tabitha WILLIAMS, born: 1766 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia, (daughter of Catherine "Caty" ? and husband, George WILLIAMS, born: 1734, also the 2nd son of his name, who was the son of Anne WILLIAMS, (descended from BILLINGTON - WILLIAMS lineage out of 1600s England into New England into Virginia, and Anne WILLIAMS' husband, Roger WILLIAMS, (descended from PEMBERTON - WILLIAMS lineage out of 1600s England into New England into Virginia.) There was an earlier son of (Major) Samuel EARLE, III and his 1st wife, Anna SORRELL, who was first named with the same name Samuel EARLE, IV and he was born in abt. 1727 and died in abt. 1752 and married a Miss ? PERKINS. 2nd son of his name, Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS/Sgt.,) and Tabitha WILLIAMS are said to have had 6 daughters one of whom was my paternal 3rd great grandmother, Kitty EARLE, born: Abt. 1795 in VA, who married the aforementioned Bailey JENNINGS, born: Abt. 1789 in VA, prob. Richmond Co., (son of John JENNINGS, Sr., (RS,) and his wife, Rachel JORDAN.) It appears that one of the sisters of my Kitty EARLE may have been a woman named Elizabeth EARLE, born: bet. 1784-1795, who married a man named Moses McWATERS whom I understand may have, along with Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS/Sgt.,) settled the area around Christian County, Kentucky with Daniel BOONE and his family but I have not found much information regarding this. If anyone knows anything about this I would be most grateful to hear from you. Another definite sister of Kitty EARLE was Virginia/Virginia Elizabeth? EARLE, born: Abt. 1784, who married John JENNINGS, Jr., born: 1776/1783 in Richmond County, Virginia, who married on November 27, 1805 in Christian County, Kentucky, (later Caldwell Co..) This John JENNINGS, Jr. was the brother of the aforementioned Bailey JENNINGS and son of the aforementioned John JENNINGS, Sr., (RS,) (son of Edward Salley JENNINGS, Sr. and wife, Sarah MOORE,) and John JENNINGS, Jr.'s wife, Rachel JORDAN, (parents: ??,) who spent the Revolutionary War in South Carolina and then migrated to Kentucky. Bailey JENNINGS later went into Covington County, MS where he was Justice of the Peace and then at some point around or after the death of Kitty EARLE he moved into Simpson County, Mississippi and was married to 2nd wife, Mrs. Sarah "Sally" LEA LEE, (of maiden name LEA and widow of her 1st husband, William LEE, son of Needham LEE, Sr. of Simpson Co., MS.) Another probable sister of Kitty EARLE was Elvinia Ewing EARLE but I have no more information on her. Another possible sister who was Mary Ann EARLE, born: 1804, who married James ATCHISON, born: 1805. It appears that he might possibly be the James H. ATCHISON/ATCHESON, born: 1805 in Edgefield County, South Carolina, who married a woman named Sarah ? in 1831 in Bibb County, Alabama, and they had children: Elizabeth, Manly, John, Zachary, between 1832-1848. Is it possible that this Sarah ? might have been Mary Ann EARLE's possible sister who was named Sarah A. EARLE? Also, Samuel EARLE, (RS/Sgt.) died in 1845 in Mobile, Alabama. And one more possible sister is Sarah A. EARLE. Is it possible that she was the Sarah ? that married James H. ATCHISON/ATCHESON and then, perhaps, she died with or after the birth of her last child in 1848 and, perhaps, her sister, Mary Ann EARLE, born: 1804, might have married her sister's husband, James H. ATCHISON/ATCHESON, at that time. Mary Ann EARLE would have been about the age of 44 years old at that time. She may have been previously married as well. ??????? That would account for 6 possibilities out of 6 total possible sisters: (1.) Kitty EARLE (2.) Virginia/Virginia Elizabeth? EARLE (3.) Elizabeth EARLE (4.) Sarah A. EARLE (5.) Mary Ann EARLE (6.) Elvinia Ewing EARLE Looking forward to hearing from anyone with any information regarding these individuals and family group. Thank you. Sincerely, Bellinda Myrick - Barnett

    1. [WILLIAMS] My Williams Headache--MO line
    2. I enjoy the freedom of deleting or reading a post that might give me a clue to my Williams genealogy headache. Sometimes it's easy to vent a frustration without thinking of the big picture. For anyone who might have information on a John Williams of Missouri who married Mary McGinty. I have no information on them at all except a son, James Alexander, (my great grandfather) who was born on Dec. 3, 1870 in Madison County, Mine LaMotte, Missouri. Family oral history has that he was orphaned at a young age and went to live with an uncle. I find him in the 1900 census living in Jefferson County Missouri with his father in law, Frank Stroupe and wife, Elizabeth Stroupe. I would love to have some help finding more information on his parents. Just a hint or clue to get me going again. I've searched the libraries and am at the brick wall. So I appreciate reviewing the roll calls just in case some one else might have a link to John and Mary Williams.

    1. [WILLIAMS] LISTOWNER POST - PLEASE READ
    2. Carol C-H
    3. Williams Cousins - Several of you have posted to me wondering why I stopped the roll call. I had a good reason. Roll Calls on a large list such as this one are tedious, because sometimes people put nothing more than "Roll Call" in the subject line. IF you want to continue with the Roll Call type posts, that would be super - but do NOT use the words ROLL CALL, or any other such un-descriptive words. Put the name of your ancestor, or the state or country, or the years you are researching him/her, or something relevant to your particular query. rather than the words ROLL CALL. I would LOVE to see 100 Roll Call type queries about your ancestors coming in every day - maybe one of them would even help me break down my brick wall - but I do NOT want to see those two words in the subject line. Please. Thanks! Carol C-H <cch@netdoor.com> http://www2.netdoor.com/~cch/

    1. [WILLIAMS] WILLIAMS - bio.from Rock Co. WI.
    2. Anita Acosta
    3. I thought I would post this info taken from the WI-Rock surname list, credits listed below. It just may help someone! I hope this is legal? >From Portrait and Biographical Album of Rock County, Wisconsin, publ. 1889 - page 630-631 WILLIAM F. WILLIAMS, Clerk of Rock County, Wis., was born in the State of New York, on the 13th day of May, 1844, and is the son of Wright and Elizabeth (HUGHES) WILLIAMS. In 1854 at the age of ten years, he removed with the family to Racine County, Wis., settling in Dover Township, where the father engaged in farming for two years. In 1856 they removed to a farm near Darien, Walworth County, and in 1859 became residents of Rock County, locating on a farm near Evansville. At this time the only educational advantages which our subject had received were such as the district school afforded, and, as will be seen, his early life was spent upon a farm. At the breaking out of the late war, he enlisted in September, 1861, as a member of Company D, of the 13th Wisconsin Infantry, commanded by Capt. E. W. BLAKE. Of his family he was not alone in defending his country, his father serving as a member of Company E, of the 33d Regiment; his brother, E. S. WILLIAMS, was in the ranks ! of Company H, 2nd Wisconsin Infantry; Gilbert and John were also assigned to company D, of the 13th Regiment; and George T., was a member of Company M, 3d Wisconsin Cavalry. Until Sept. 17, 1863, Mr. WILLIAMS gallantly defended the flag which now floats so proudly over our united Nation, but at that date was discharged on account of physical disability, resulting from service in the field. On his return from the Southern battle fields, Mr. WILLIAMS weighed but ninety-seven and a half pounds. In 1864, he entered the Evansville Seminary and for two winters was a student in that institution. As soon as his health would permit he devoted his time and attention to agricultural pursuits, continuing in that line for two years, and in the spring of 1868, went to the West, where he engaged as a contractor in the construction of railroads. Abandoning that vocation in 1870, he returned to his home, and in the spring of that year, was appointed Street Commissioner of the village of Evansville, filling that office for two years. In the fall of 1873, he went to Elk Point, Dak., where he was employed in the lumber business for M. W. SHEAF, but returned to his home in the fall of the following year. Three years were spent by Mr. WILLIAMS as a drayman in Evansville, and for two years he was employed on the mail route from Evansville to Edgerton. He has also served in the! capacity of Marshal and Street Commissioner of the village for five years, was deputy Sheriff for four years, Village Clerk for two years, Fire Warden for five years, and Sexton for four years. In the fall of 1884, he was elected to County Clerk, re-elected in 1886, and again in 1888, entering on his third term on the first Monday in January, 1889. In the various official positions which he has occupied, Mr. WILLIAMS has ever discharged his duties in a faithful and prompt manner, with credit to himself and satisfaction to his constituents and the long terms of service in the various offices testify to his ability. On the 27th day of December, 1866, Mr. WILLIAMS was united in marriage with Miss Ellen J. BALLARD, a daughter of Argalus BALLARD. She was born in Allegany County, N.Y., and her parents were among the early settlers of Rock County. Mrs. WILLIAMS is a devoted member of the Episcopal Church. One child has been born of their union, a daughter, Myrta Clive, born July 8, 1874. Mr. WILLIAMS is a member of Union Lodge, No. 32, A.F. & A.M., of Evansville, and of T. L. Sutland Post, No. 41, G. A. R. He is a worthy and valued citizen and by his many friends throughout the county he is held in high regard. ==== WIROCK Mailing List ==== (c)2002 WIGEN-L/WIGEN-D Administrator: Lori Niemuth <dawnlea@ticon.net> WIGenWeb-Rock County coordinator <
