James Williams, who died as a result of wounds suffered at Kings Mtn. SC on Oct. 7, 1780. He died the next day. His remains are now buried in Gaffney SC and there is a memorial to him at the Gaffney Public Library. [Col. (4)Elizabeth Williams---married John Griffin first and second, married James Tinsley. (5)JohnWilliams, d.1794 (6)Sarah Williams, married James Tinsley (7)James Williams, Jr., d. 1832 (8)Washington Williams, married Sarah Griffin. Washington and Sarah had at least one child, John Drayton Williams, 1818-1870. This is all the information I have concerning the descendants of Col. Williams. Since he is not in my direct line, I have not traced his line any further than listed above. You may find help in the book published in 1997 by Lewis James Williams and others under the title: "Williams: 300 Years of Leadership in America: A History of the Descendants of John Williams of Llangollen, Wales" [ISBN: 0-9658376-0-2]. The copy I found was in the Mecklenburg Public Library in Charlotte, NC. Hope this information helps.

Elizabeth (Betsy) Williams and George Paschall lived in Kaufman Co Texas. Elizabeth (Besty) Williams was the daughter of Josiah and Abigail Williams. Born between 1800 and probably 1808 in South Carolina. She went to Graves Co Ky with her father and sister Sarah and brothers John and Providence sometime between 1823/1827. Thanks for your response. My William Williams married Cynthia unk. I think they are in Hall County, Ga. in 1830 no children. !850 they had moved to Randolph County, Al. They had Jane born abt 1832 Henry born abt. 1835 William born abt. 1837 All the above born in Gerogia Noah born 1839 died in Polk County, AR. was married to Rebecca Davis Joshua born 1841 married Amanda Lou Suttle Nancy born abt 1842 Mary born abt 1846 David born 1848 William moved to Blount County, Al by 1860 by then there were 2 more girls An born 1851 , Sarah born 1855.
