Born about 1814 in Pennsylvania. Died between 1860-1870(?). Buried in Stephens Cemetery in Nicholson. Farmer, land owner. Who were his siblings, parents, ancestors? Only possible clue is the one other person with the Wilkins surname on the Nicholson, Pennsylvania Census of 1820 -- a JOHN WILKINS. Does anybody have any information? Here's a little bit more on Samuel: Samuel Married Elizabeth Hartley of Glenwood, PA (1803-1871) about 1832. They had three children: Amy Emeline Wilkins (1834-1913) . Married Seth Thomas. Buried Stark Cemetery, Wyoming County, PA. He was in the Civil War. Martha Wilkins (1844-1930). Married Eben Nichols. Lived in Tioga County, NY. Hendrick Wilkins (1847-1921). Married Elizabeth Taylor. Lived in Nicholson. Merchant, life insurance salesman, coal dealer, inventor of Combined Stove Poker and Tongs (Patented 1876). Grand Master of Nicholson Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. Elizabeth Hartley previously married to Ebenezer Stephens Jr. (1800-1831).
