The library has a wonderful genealogy room if you can ever visit it. I don't get to Merrill often but the library has newspapers back into the 1800s on film. If anyone had a written obituary they have them listed and they can easily let you know if there would be a newspaper obituary. With their directory you'd know which paper, date and page to go to look and print it. I have used them in the past and obituaries tell so much. It would most likely be next winter before I'd have time to go there again. If you can not find someone from the genealogy group or library to help you I surely can do it later this year. Unfortunately I don't live near Merrill anymore so my time there is limited. I have a CD that I got the the North Pines Genealogy Group. Between 1998 and 2006 they listed everyone in all the cemeteries of Lincoln County that has a monument. You can then tell which cemetery they are in. The key is that they needed to have a monument to be listed. my CD drive didn't want to open the CD today. I'm not sure what happened to it. You can also purchase a CD from the group for $30 or $35. The Merrill Memorial Cemetery if you call them have everyone listed on their computer if you call them. They can look the name up and tell you exactly where they are buried. Of course there are many more cemeteries in Lincoln County. The beauty of the CD is that you don't need to know which cemetery someone is in to find them. Good luck and let me know if I can help later this year at the library. Don Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
