My grandfather, William C. Knospe was a lodge member in Merrill and when he died as a young man in 1906, his insurance with them was what kept my grandmother from being destitute, left as she was with 4 childrren to raise alone. She always spoke with gratitude of the Woodmen of the World. She often mentioned being a "Rebecca"... could this have been the wives unit? I'm not sure I have Rebekah (?) spelled correctly.
