Thank you very much for the material. Gathering family history is exciting, frustrating, rewarding, overwhelming and many other things, but you certainly can come in contact with some wonderful people. We are actually from Aberdeen, Washington about 20 miles from the Pacific Ocean. My g-grandfather Andrew Maschke came to the US in 1885 and ended up in Merrill. My grandmother Hulda and her sisters went to Catholic schools there. The family then moved to Astoria, Oregon, where Hulda met and married Albert Erickson. They then moved to Hoquiam, Washington. An educated guess is that Anna Maschke is his sister. Their parents name would have been Charles Maschke and Theresa Templin. It is interesting that Templins are also found in Lincoln Co. So we have Anna marrying a Rosenkranz, living in the neighborhood of some Templins when Andrew shows up. I have traced August Rosenkranz, and Andrew Maschke back to Konitz, West Prussia (now Poland) but can't find them in the parish records there. It seems that everytime I get a breakthru I also hit a stone wall. Isn't it wonderful! Thank you again, Bob Erickson
