Wi Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/Lincoln?read=171 Surname: HUEBNER ------------------------- Lincoln County Mark, I do not know if there is a connection with my William Huebner or not. William was born in l836. He came over in l867. I think I have found him on ship records but I'm not positive. I have found all of my other ancestor's on ship records but William escapes me. On his death certificate it says his parents were Wilhelm and Carolina. They would have born around l8l0ish. William was supposed to have had l2 brothers. Eleven came over and one went back. I haven't connected any of the brothers yet. (It ain't for lack of trying.) When I find him in the l870 census he's working at a sawmill in Wausau. They only record his name and not whether he has a family. In l873 he establishes a family farm in Maine, Wisconsin, right outside of Wausau. In the l880 census I cannot find him. I note there were over 20 Huebner families in Wisconsin in l880. In l883 he marries my great grandmother in Wausau, Marathon County. He is already 47. There is a good possibility there could have been an earlier family but I haven't found them yet. In l903 he adds my great grandmother's name to the title of the land. In l907 he sells the land and moves to Merrill. In l908 he dies. My great grandmother's maiden name was Brehmer. I have traced the Brehmers back to Norenberg, Pommerin, Prussia (Germany). There are a few Huebner families in the l83l-l874 church records. Does any of this match the details you have? Dar
