My grandmother and her sister were supposedly born Tomahawk, WI on or very ear these dates: Rosie Pearl Morin 1899-1900 Dora ??? Morin 1895-1896 Rosie was quite certain that she and her sister were adopted. This is a supposition as no one ever confirmed this during her parents or her lifetime. I am just starting to look in to this and would appreciate any help from the Lincoln Co., WI list. What I am certain of is that Peter Morin (aka Morris, Murray) and wife Rosella Burdo with Rosellas sister Jenny Burdo Mitchell and Jenny's husband name unknown traveled to Tomahawk, WI in the 1870's, 1880's, and 1890's. They all resided in and eventually died in Muskegon Co., MI. Peter worked constructing roads--most likely for lumbering companies. Rosella was a cook for lumber camps. Jenny Mitchell had children in Tomahawk and some of the remained there. I will be traveling to the Tomahawk area with my mother this fall and hope to have signifacnt information gathered before we make the trip. We would love to visit with cousins and share information.
