September 9, 1893 in a religious ceremony performed by Enoch Pickering; witnesses were Milton Elliott and his wife (name unknown) John was a farmer from Tomahawk, born in Canada. Vesta was born in NY 4-24-1850. This was her second marriage. She was originally married to Orlando Ashley . Severe Dennis Ruleau, son of Villa and Eliza (Klaues) Ruleau born in Grand Rapids (Wis. Rapids) August 1866; he was a teamster and lived in Merrill. He maried Edith Ashley in Merrill in a civil ceremony performed by Ernest A. Dunn; witnesses were A.D. Lytle and Vesta Ashley.
