Don't know when he died, or where he is buried. Only thing I have to go by is what a 75 yr old cousin thinks she remembers. Name of cousin I am hunting for is: JOHN DERRINGER, supposedly died & was buried around the Tomahawk area.I have no idea how many cemeteries are around the Tomahawk area so I don't know how much trouble I am asking for. Like I said, this is a long shot. Any help locating this person or other Derringer's would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time & efforts!! Jerry Derringer Nashville, Indiana

    3. I did not subscribe to all the lists I am posting this message to. Therefore, I thank you in advance for replying privately. ------- Good evening! I am writing to you from Belgium, Europe Since April 1994, I am doing research on the emigrants from the Waasland, an area in Flanders, Belgium, west of Antwerp, to the United States and Canada between 1830 - 1950. En route I am also helping out any other Belgian descendant in North America looking for her/his Roots here. At present I have identified some 2,500 emigrants from the Waasland, but I have information on tens of thousands of Belgian emigrants. My web site at http://www.ping.be/picavet/ contains much more information, including: + thousands of NAMES of Belgian emigrants; + hundreds of passenger SHIPS (mainly from Antwerp); + a complete list of all PLACES in Belgium with their districts, province, ZIP-code,telephone area code, and not unimportant in Belgium: the official language; + TRANSLATIONS of vital records from Dutch in English; + a complete GUIDE on how to look for your Belgian roots; + some HISTORY of Belgium, Flanders, and the Waasland; + a list of hundreds of US ARMY UNITS and thousands of surnames of AMERICAN SOLDIERS decorated by Belgium after WW2; + articles about GENEALOGY, GENEOLOGY, and ANDRAGOGY. Please do contact me if you are a Belgian descendant, or if you know of Belgian immigrants or their descendants in your area. I do need any help I can get! If you have Belgian descendants in your area, I would be extremely grateful if you could make a link from your web site to mine. Thank you all for welcoming me and for all the generous help, care and love that I have been given by all of you! Wendy in WI On the night before Christmas, as twilight draws near. I fold up the papers , I've worked on all year. My ancestors I thought, knew of nights such as this. When young generations, go to bed with a wish. They came from far places, those kinfolk of mine. from towns with strange names, that have passed into time. While our children and Grandkids, wait for the light, we sit and we wonder, on this peaceful night. How long will it be, just how much time. Before we are the ancestors, The others can't find..

    1. [WILINCOL-L] Shelley's Vacation time
    2. SDGreen715
    3. Dear everyone! I am going on a vacation (with my sister to Branson) on Saturday and will be gone until Thursday evening. Then I will be busy catching up with work and mail. So if you have any questions, or problems, it will be a week or so before I can get back to you. I wanted to give you the following URL. The rootsweb system has put an archive system in. It is new, so they are still working out the bugs. If you belong to any mailing list hosted by rootsweb, you can type in the name of the list, and then the name you are researching. http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl Also, there is a new site, that I haven't used fully yet, but has a search engine to locate gen. sites on the internet - like surnames, ships passenger lists, online data and more. http://www.gensource.com And my "construction" news! I have gotten a copy of the 1905 census of the War veterans of Wisconsin, and have tried to pick out all the names of Marathon County and Lincoln County Civil War vets. It does't list names by county, just Post Office address by veterans last name - so I hope I've gotten all the cities that were in existance in 1895 and 1905. I have some corrections and additions to my Marathon County page, and will be adding a page to Lincoln County. I am working on making a photo copy of the 1895 census book (I can't get an ILL, and we aren't allowed to take it from the local library - so every time I go, I've been making photo copies of the book! - I'm up to page 87 of 350!) So sometime in January or early February, I hope to have those pages updated and running. So that's my current news - if I don't get back to you, have a wonderful blessed Christmas! Shelley

    3. First of all I just want to wish everyone a very happy, safe, and blessed holiday. Enjoy your time off with your family and loved ones and take care of you to. Secondly, I wanted you all to know that I may not answer my mail for the next couple of days, as my son had a medical emergency tonight and required some emergency surgery. I am already very backlogged with mail, so please be patient with me; it will take me extra time to get to everyone. I also have company from CA, so this week is going to be a wild one. I don't want anyone to think I don't appreciate your help or your reply's, and I'm sorry to have to make this announcement over the list, but it is the best I can do right now so please forgive the multiple messages. My thoughts are with all of you and I thank God I have all of you to turn to for help, friendship, and everything that you give...please don't forget that when you do not hear from me. I am not trying to be rude. I'm sure my "family" here will understand. Once again, I'm sorry for the multiple messages. Have a great Thanksgiving and I'll see you soon. Wendy Knoll
