    2. Thanks to Mary Beth Fay, I have added links to my Marathon County page to 1910 Census for the townships of Hamburg, Berlin, Kronenwetter, and Eau Pleine. Mary Beth has undertaken this project because of her ties to Marathon County. She is the owner of the census pages. She eventually will have done the entire county - and will be working on the twps of Texas, Maine, and Stettin and hopes to have them done by July. <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~wimarath/index.htm">Marathon County WIGenWeb </A> Shelley Marathon County WI: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wimarath/ Lincoln County WI: http://www.rootsweb.com/wilincol/ Personal Web Page: http://members.aol.com/sdgreen715/index.html Mailing Lists: Wimarath-l and [email protected]

    3. I just received this message about the URL for Wisconsin Land Records. Shelley In a message dated 98-05-13 23:35:35 EDT, [email protected] writes: << Shelley, A while back you posted the URL at Rootsweb for the index of the BLM's GLO records. Well, that's now supplemented by the BLM putting the actual images on the web. The URL for the main page is http://www.glorecords.blm.gov And it's not just WI, has like 13 other states. Couple warnings though, to use the site, a person must have JavaScript enabled in their browser, and they are still working out some bugs in the site (if you get an error message, just keep clicking on the OK and/or try to scroll down before the error reappears), and don't be surprised if it takes 5 minutes just to display a page (it seems dreadfully slow and so far I haven't been able to get the actual image of a land patent to appear, but the lady who sent me the URL said that she was able to). >>

    1. [WILINCOL-L] A few new names (Civil War)
    2. SDGreen715
    3. Thanks to Steve Michaels of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, I have added some new names to both web pages. these come from the Soldiers and Citizens Album published in 1888, and have names of the original members of rosters of GAR posts. Steve sent me the ones for Merrill and Wausau. I added a new page called GAR Roster of Merrill on the Lincoln County Page, <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~wilincol/">Lincoln County Wisconsin WiGenWeb </A> and just added the names to the Civil War Vets from 1895-1905 censuses on the <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~wimarath/index.htm">Marathon County WIGenWeb</A>. While there are not many that were not already listed, there are some different spellings - possibly the same person - I added all the new names. Does anyone have any suggestions for things you might like to see on the county pages? I won't promise anything, but if I have time and resources - who knows? Mary Beth is working on 1910 censuses for some of the Marathon County townships - so that is coming! Shelley

    3. I have in my possession an old snapshot, with names on the back, of eleven ladies. One of them is my great-grandmother Bertha (WURL) SEEFELD. Other names are: Mrs. DANE, Mrs. TOOMY, Mrs. J. GAINES (the comical one), Mrs CHIVERIER, Mrs. O'CONNOLL, Mrs. McCABE, Mrs. GRIMMEL, Mrs. MISTLE, Mrs. DAWSON, and Mrs. McCARTHY. Ages I think would mostly be fiftyish. I would guess that this is either a neighborhood group or a club membership. Bertha SEEFELD moved from Auburndale, Wood County, to Tomahawk, Lincoln County in 1911. I am not sure whether this photo would be before or after the move. If these names are significant to anyone, I could scan the photo and send to you via e-mail. Ralph Seefeld [email protected]
