    3. I'm open to correction on this, having never heard that name used for it, but I think you may be referring to what was called the old County Home when I was growing up in the 1940s and 50s. It was on the left side (north I guess) of Highway 17 as you headed northeast out of Merrill toward Gleason. My memory is poor on this, but I think it was brick and it was at least two stories. It's gone now, if that's the place. I think Pinecrest Nursing Home would be its successor, so the start of Pinecrest would probably be the date of the end of the old County Home. Again, I may be all wet on this, and will welcome elucidation. Hope this helps. Tom -- Tom Vaughan, Editor The Mancos Times-Tribune Serving the beautiful Mancos Valley since 1892 P.O. Wi Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/Lincoln?read=162 Surname: Emanuel, Rubichek, Robatzek, Robicek ------------------------- My name is Claudette Moran, and I'm from Little Falls, Minnesota. I am trying to do research on my mother's paternal side of the family. My mother, Joyce Erdman (Erdmann) Moran, was the daughter of Clem and Fern (Sanford) Erdman, and they lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My grandfather, Clem, was the son of Albert and Rosalie (Rubichek) Erdman (Erdmann), and the youngest of six children. His siblings were: Agatha, Marie, Martha, Frank and Tressa. Rosalie had two sisters, one by the name of Marie Emanuel, and she lived in the vicinity of Merrill, Wiisconsin. I am basing this on one letter that she wrote to my great grandmother, but I don't have a lot of info, other than the name, name of the city of where the letter came from, and the year that it was written, which was 1921. I'm trying to find out who her husband was, and if they had children and grandchildren. I'd also like to find out if she kept in touch with the other sister, who she was, and where she ended up. If anybody can help, I'd certainly appreciate it. Sincerely, Claudette Moran

Also, I am working on some new information for the Marathon County pages, and when I get approval from the one who sent most of it to me, I will upload it to my pages. This will be a history of Hogarty, WI, some logging stories, and an article I wrote about early Wausau Cemeteries. Also WAY in the future will be the Marathon County 1880 census, and even later than that will be the 1870 Marathon and Lincoln County census. I just bought the CD's and will transcribe them. I'll also put them up on the USGenWeb census project. However, I can see that this will be very time consuming. When I do it, I'll also need a proof reader. Any volunteers? Shelley
