Phyllis Quinn posted a surname on the Lincoln County list several years ago, looking for info on the surname Chartier. Her e-mail address is no longer working. I have someone who is inquiring about the surname. If she is out there somewhere, please e-mail me. Thanks, Shelley
My grandfather, Leslie RYAN, was born in Merrill in 1898. His birth records were destroyed in a fire sometime before 1930. I hope the ones you are looking for did not suffer the same fate. On the bright side, If your Boyce leads you to NY, there is an extensive, active and published genealogy of the descendent of Chretien DuBois of Wicres, France. The Dubois family were Huguenots who came to New Paltz in the 1600s and Anglicized the pronunciation of the surname. There are tons of them around here. Many descendent use Boyce, Boice, Boyse, etc. There is a Dubois Family Association that you might be able to get in touch with through the Huguenot Historical Society. I think they have a site but I don't know what it is off hand. Look around a bit and I'm sure you'll find it. Good luck, Margaret
So glad I have finally found you. Am trying to a geneology on Herbert Norman Boyce family. My grandfather. I need anything I can get. Birth Certificates for both he and my grandma Louise Raasch. He was born to Lucius Ciron Boyce and Clara Em Town on 9/21/l895. Died l983. Grandpa was born in the town of Merrill., acording to his ob. but here is where geneology gets interesting. Newspaper clipping about them celebrating their anniversary says he was born in Town of Rock Falls. Grandma was born in Town of Scott. I have obits. for both and some articles from the paper. I have no marriage liscence, no info on either set of my great grandparents. I have been using the net but I know all information is right there in Lincoln County Court house. Very frustrating because I only get there on Weekends. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Randy(Boyce) Chadwick

Some items listed in the timeline (underlined) also contain links to other Web pages with more information on the historical event referenced. Glad to see your post on the DREW family; it added some information to my files, especially Ralph's earlier children. I have a marriage date for Ralph DREW and Gertrude HUTCHINS of 22 Mar., 1903, in Merrill, Wis., and a death date for her of 15 Nov., 1916. I apologize that I did not make a note of the origin of the death date; I think I took it off her tombstone and I think she's in the Bloomville graveyard. It's a little country cemetery off Highway 17 and there are a number of Drews and Wyants there. My grandmother, Amelia Rachel VAUGHAN, married Roy Matthew DREW, Ralph's brother (after divorcing Jay Pool DREW, another brother) and I have had a lot of difficulty piecing together DREW genealogy. You've helped place Dorris in the family (always spelled with two Rs on labelled family pictures). There is one living person who might be able to give you more information about Gertrude HUTCHINS, and that's Hazel ECKLUND DREW. She's related through the WYANTs and she also married Ralph's first cousin once-removed, Bob DREW. Hazel is 90 and lives in a small retirement apartment on the edge of Gleason and I can't find a number for her in the Merrill phone book. Perhaps a good soul on this list who lives in that area will give both of us Hazel's number. Hazel is sharp as a tack and knows the family history very well. Good luck!
