I have to be honest and say that most of the county coordinators do not like these boards, but for the time being anyway, we can't do anything about it! I am not sure if I have the right thread or not, but I have information leading me to believe that my Great Grandfather John Reinwand was born in Wisconsin in 1887. He later married Mary Sweeney. Would you happen to know if John and Anna were his parents? I would appreciate any information you have that will help me. Thank you

Records say that he will be staying with a friend, Christian Quaars who lives there. Sources say there are people still in Lincoln Co. with varients of the Quaars name. I have to assume that Ernest and Christian knew each other while living in Mecklenburg Germany. Ernest was born in 1883 in Torgelow, Prussia area, he was in the military in the town of Parchim, Mecklenburg in 1904-1907. Some of the other towns he was in was Rostock, Steinfeld, Neubrandenburg. Records say that his parents lived in Rostock. Would like to know more info about Christian Quaars.

He was born in 1848 in Canada and was married in Wausau, Marathon County to Catherine Meuret. He lived in Merrill, Lincoln County and is buried in Wausau. His parents were Germaine and Lucia?. He had many siblings, including Josephine, whom married Francois Allain.
My grandmother and her sister were supposedly born Tomahawk, WI on or very ear these dates: Rosie Pearl Morin 1899-1900 Dora ??? Morin 1895-1896 Rosie was quite certain that she and her sister were adopted. This is a supposition as no one ever confirmed this during her parents or her lifetime. I am just starting to look in to this and would appreciate any help from the Lincoln Co., WI list. What I am certain of is that Peter Morin (aka Morris, Murray) and wife Rosella Burdo with Rosellas sister Jenny Burdo Mitchell and Jenny's husband name unknown traveled to Tomahawk, WI in the 1870's, 1880's, and 1890's. They all resided in and eventually died in Muskegon Co., MI. Peter worked constructing roads--most likely for lumbering companies. Rosella was a cook for lumber camps. Jenny Mitchell had children in Tomahawk and some of the remained there. I will be traveling to the Tomahawk area with my mother this fall and hope to have signifacnt information gathered before we make the trip. We would love to visit with cousins and share information. Her adoptive parents, Joseph and Josephine Strokal, spelled Strockell on baptism record at St Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk WI, she was baptized May 10, 1890 and her birth date is May 17, 1889.
