I have a direct relative- Johann Plisch who was born in Karlsthal, Silesia (then known as Austria) in March 1864. He came to Australia in 1888. I have been having trouble in finding information about his family. Apparently his parents were a Johann or John Plisch and Marie or Maria Miller. I wondered of there might be any connection between the two Plisch families. Give the changes over time I'm not sure where to go to try and seek further records about the family. I would really appreciate any advice you could provide. Regards, Amanda (user name Sandywitney) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: GDeSalva Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wisconsin.counties.lincoln/1334.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Pösen. According to the information I have her birth place is: Prossekel, Kreis Filehne, Pösen, Prussia. I have also seen her birth place listed as Pösen, Saale-Holzland-Kreis, Thueringen, Germany. The family is originally from Austria (Silesia). Paulina is the daughter of Gottlieb and Caroline Plisch. There were Plisch families throughout Silesia (both Austria and Prussia). Gottlieb is from Austria Silesia and started his family there. His first children were born in Austria Silesia. Then he took his family north to Pösen, where several more children were born. Then they immigrated to Marathon County, Wisconsin, in 1857. This is where Paulina and Peter were married. Once Peter and Paulina settled in Merrill, I believe they stayed there until Peter's death (prior to 1930). Afterward, Paulina lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Champier Hein, in Pasedena, California. I assume Paulina died in California, but I don't know. I believe Peter is either buried in Merrill, or possibly the Wausau/Berlin area. (Several of Paulina's family members are buried in Friedenshain Cemetery.) It's possible Paulina may be buried next to Peter, or in California. I would think! either way there would have been an obituary for both Peter and Paulina in the Wausau/Merrill papers as there were many family members in these areas. I can't find any death or burial record anywhere, and I'm hoping someone knows something about these two. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: GDeSalva Surnames: Loyson, Loysen, Plisch Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wisconsin.counties.lincoln/1334/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm looking for death or burial information on this married couple. Peter was born 31 May 1850 in Milwaukee. Paulina was born 15 Apr 1855 in Prussia. They were married 31 Aug 1879 in Marathon County, Wisconsin. They lived in several locations in Marathon, Outagamie, and Lincoln counties, and finally settled in Merrill, where they resided between 1905 and 1920 per census records. I know Peter died before 1930 because Pauline was listed as a widow in the 1930 US census and living with her daughter and son-in-law in California. 2. Ray Karvel
    3. Hi Margo, I have been wanting to write you and Janet for some time but something always seemed to come in my way. My COMPUTOR has given me my greatest problem. I think I finally got control of it now, at least for a little while. I have been wanting to write your mother also and I may get to it soon. I have been going to the clinic for a few problems, like my heart, which can't last forever. I live alone with my 14 year old dog, and I feel like I talk to her. It is hard to beleive I have reached 94 this coming April. My wife has been gone four years now and I think of her every hour of the day.I can't help wondering if I will ever meet her again. Life is hard to understand. I wonder why and what for.; The ninety four years have gone too fast. I would like to meet my father, who was killled in a loging accident, when I was only 5 month old.and wouldn't know him. My mother lost her sight before I was born, and I ran away from home when I was l7 years old. I managed to finish my highschool education and then some. We raised four sons, who were well educated'. George is my oldest son and now a retired St Thomas college professor. I don't know if I told your mother or Dad all this, but I thought you might like to know. I have four grandchildren and five greast grandchildren. So long for now, Love, RAY KARVEL ----- Original Message ----- From: Freeman, Margo To: rekarvel@wabasha.net Sent: Thursday, December 22, 2011 1:46 PM Subject: Bud & Janet Karvel Hi Uncle Elmer (or do you prefer Uncle Ray?) Do you remember me? I'm Margo, Bud and Janet's daughter. I know it's been a long time. Your son George gave me your email address. I hope that you're doing well and looking forward to the Holiday Season!! Please feel free to contact me by email. I will share it with mom.
