There may be other families. Was Fran Montabon's mother Lillian a Wedler? She was a cousin of my mother Mabel Gerbig Van Ert but I'm not positive what her maiden surname was. My mother's mother was Eva Waldburger Gerbig. Mother was raised with the Fehr family with her cousin's Paul etc. since her mother died when she was a year and a half old. My mother was Mabel Gerbig. She passed away at her home in Gleason, WI July 11, 2007. She also had a brother Walter (Wally) who I understand was killed when he was young in a car accident. I do remember Great Aunt Anna Hipke talking about Connie and George. I'm not sure how they were related. Were they in New York? Who is Fran? Perhaps Ole was married and divorced before Gunhild? Did Gunhild remarry after Ole died,I can't find her in the 1900 or 1910 censuses? If you don't have a family Bible that list's biths, deaths and marriages then church records might yield some results. Baptismal records should give info as to birthdate, parents and sponsors. I do have that census for them, Cornelia is with an Ole in the 1860 New HOpe, Portage census but their surname is listed as Volksland a variation of Wogsland. I had the death cert for Gunhild but not Ole, were there obits of any kind? I have never found what religion the family was but assume they are Lutheran as we have found many many of the these Wogslands buried in the Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery and the New Hope Lutheran Cemetery. That is where the different named mother first showed up and she is in one census only. I am thinking if I found brothers and sisters for Maria maybe that would reaffirm who her parents were or at least there would be more proof. That is why a birth record would be so helpful, I have worked on this for about 5 years now off and on. thanks for your ideas and I will check on siblings that could be in your list.
