    3. My notes indicate that the James Wilhite that married Peggy Baker and Susan Cates is a different James Wilhite that married Comfort Stansbury. It is generally accepted that James who married Comfort Stansbury is the son of Adam and Miss Batey (Patey). Marge Wilhite believes that the other James who married Peggy Baker was Adams son but I haven't seen any conclusive proof. I am descended from James and Comfort. Their children were: Levina (Viney) b. 21 MAY 1816 m. John (Jack) Jones 22 Dec. 1836, d. 31 Mary 1860 James Wilhite b. 12 Feb 1817 m. Elizabeth A. Payne 20 Dec. 1846, d. 17 Jan. 1892. Hanna Wilhite b. ? m. Alfred Arnold 18 Jul 1850, d. ? John M. Wilhite b. 5 Dec. 1819, m. Margaret (Peggy) Rose 28 Oct. 1840, d. 28 Nov. 1889 (my line) William Wilhite b. ? m. 30 Nov. 1848 Sarah Edington, d. ? Mary E. Wilhite b. ?, m. Lorenzo Dow Johnson 26 Feb. 1846, d. ? Nancy W. Wilhite b. 11 Feb. 1825, m. William Johnson 21 Feb. 1860, d. 3 Jan. 1876 Margaret E. Wilhite b. 19 Nov. 1832, m. 22 Apr. 1852 James Harve Fryar, d. 27 Jan. 1910 Other information coincides with what I have. If anyone wants more on the John M. Wilhite, Margaret (Peggy) Rose line, let me know. Paul At 10:47 PM 12/7/1998 -0500, you wrote: >Hello Beverly.
