I've taken the liberty to provide entries extracted from the book Missouri Pioneers of Boone County, compiled by InfoTech Publishing, published by Boyd Publishing Co., Milledgeville, GA (1995). This book is a compilation of Original Land Tracts, the 1821 Tax Roll, 1820-1849 Marriages (2 books), Listed Ministers of Gospel & JPs (2 lists) & the Steward's Book for the Columbia Circuit (Methodist Episcopal Church) of 1853. One 1821 entry on Sampson WILHITE may give credence to Sampson probably being the father of Fielding WILHITE. The following WILHITE entries are extracted: Original Land Patents - Pg. 7 - 1824 - Fielding WILHITE - acquired land in Township 48N - R14 Pg. 8 - 1832 - Stephens WILHITE - acquired land in Township 48N - R14 Pg. 7 - 1826 - Fielding WILHITE - acquired land in Township 48N - R14 1821 Tax List - Pg. 12 - Sampson WILHITE (probable? father of Fielding WILHITE) Book A - Boone County Marriages - 1820-1841 Pg. 30 (Pg. 135 in the records) - 08 December 1836 - Louis CONNER (of Howard Co.) married Elizabeth WILHITE - Officiated by Fielding WILHITE, MG. Pg. 34 (Pg. 162 in the records) - 6 May 1838 - Louis H. HART married Eliza WILHITE - Officiated by Fielding WILHITE, MG. Books A & B - List of Ministers & Justices - Pages. 42 & 62 - Fielding WILHITE is listed as a "Minister of the Gospel" (MG) - (no denomination specified) Book B - Boone County Marriages - 1841-1849 Pg. 45 (Pg. 232 in the records) - April 1842 - James O. WOODS married Julia A. WILHITE - Officiated by Isaac B. ALLEN (neither status or denomination specified). Pg. 47 (Pg. 248 in the records) - 06 April 1843 - J. M. WILHITE married Sarah PHILLIPS - Officiated by Fielding WILHITE, MG. Pg. 59 - (pg. 376-380 in the records) - 08 February 1849 - John S. WILHITE married Nancy B. McQUITTY - Officiated by Fielding WHILHITE, MG. I have a couple of books on the War Between the States, which cite several Missouri WILHITEs having participated in the "lost cause." Contrary to most "politically correct" histories, I think you will find that a substantial number native Missourians of that generation were of the "Rebel" persuasion. Would be happy to extract them, if they would be of any value to anyone looking for Missouri WILHITEs. For what the above is worth. Regards, Bob Long [email protected] Robert A.
