    3. Hello All, I am trying to work out the Cherokee connection to the Willhite, Fryar and Singleton families of Montgomery County. Any ideas? Bettie wrote>> Supposedly, Polly Fryar who married Julius Wilhite, was full blood Cherokee, but I have not found proof of that in any of the Indian rolls. My grandmother said that her dad, Cling Wilhite, could have gotten land from the government because he was Indian, but he already had land and didn't want to have anything to do with the government. Nancy Jane Wilhite was a sister to Alexander Clingman Wilhite. I have a copy of D.F. Singleton's will. His wife was listed as Nancy J. Singleton. The will lists the following children: John Singleton, Bade << I have a photo of this couple middle aged with children. D. Frank Singleton b. 8 Feb 1837 (man) Nancy Jane Wilhite b. Aug 1844 ( she looks Indian with high cheek bones, thin face, long black hair) Bettie wrote>> Darrell Guinn, Indian genealogist from Joplin, MO, could find only one Singleton family listed on Cherokee Rolls.
