Actually John didn't die in the Revolutionery War, but died an old man in 1835. I know at the GenWeb site for Scot Co., Ky has his application for pension online. To write for pension records, find the website for the US National Archive, email them for applications, fill them out, send money and wait about six months. If you live near the regional national archive in Kansas City, Mo. They have microfilm of all the pension records for the Revolutionery War as well as micro-film pension records for men who served from Missouri. I too am a decendent of John and his son Jesse M who also settled in Clay Co., MIssouri. Hope this helps.
