Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HWWBAEB/243 Message Board Post: As you know, the posts here to the Message Boards are "gatewayed" (cross-posted) to the corresponding Message Lists at Rootsweb. The Message Lists have limits of 15,000 bytes (15 Kb) per email message. Thus, if you post a message here that exceeds 15,000 bytes, it cannot be forwarded to the corresponding Message List, unless I manually break it into smaller pieces and then post them to the List. Lately I've had some problems with users sending posts that exceed the maximum allowed size. Some users ARE limiting their posts of genealogy data to 15,000 bytes, but are forgetting that headers and footers are added to all emails, and the resulting size is over the 15,000 byte limit. So, please, in the future, keep your posts to about 12,000 bytes so that the final size of the email is still under the 15,000 bytes limit. Thanks, SgtGeorge George W.
