Turner is not the problem although there are a few loose ends to tie up about him and his forebears. Pose your specific questions and I can give you pretty much a map to follow for pursuing your questions about him. Ah, it is the fair Sophronia that is the challenge. There are a lot of Dyers in Tennessee and some of the Dyer lines are extremely interesting. It would be great to tie Sophronia into them. My hope or belief, take your pick, is that Sophronia is somehow a sister or daughter of a Joel that married a Christmas. There is already a Christmas connection through Turner's dad, so that would be tidy plus I think that Joel (there are a lot of them in the Dyer family) is the close kin of a famous war hero. Nonetheless, the only Sophie of his that I can find married a Mr. Hesse by all accounts. Unless we can give Mr. Hesse and untimely demise, we are skunked there. Was she a Sophronia or maybe just plain Sophie or maybe it was (or was sometimes! spelled) Saphrona or Sophrona? Help! Let me know if you find anything.
