    3. Hello Cousins: Have just resubscribed after having been gone for a while. The subject of my interest is Thomas Mack WILHOITE. There was a U.S.S. WILHOITE, named after Thomas. The ship has since been decommissioned, sold, and scrapped. Do any of my cousins have any information on Thomas? He was born in Guthrie, KY in Feb., 1921. Entered the Naval Reserve in 1941. I am trying to determine his particular line of descendancy. Thomas was posthumously awarded the silver star for "conspicuous gallantry" in action against the Vichy French in the invasion of North Africa on 1942. My line of descendancy in the WILHOITE line is from the immigrant Johann Michael WILHOITE, his son, John, grandson, Nicholas, and gr.granddaughter, Frances. Frances,"Fannie", married Nicholas BLANKENBAKER. It's good to be back in the "loop" again. Warm regards, Dan
