    2. Looking for information on Jane Wilhite d/o Vicy Wilhite and A. Murphy. Jane was born in 1866 possible Logan Co WV. She married a Mastin Christian on 11/25/1880 she was 14 he 26. Married in Welsh, McDowell Co WV. Jane was raised in the home of her grandfather Alfred Wilhite she was also a twin to William Wilhite. In 1880 they were living in the Big Creek Township of McDowell. Would like information on this family of Alfred Wilhite. Also on Jane the daughter of Vicy.     3. Hi, Gary --- My memory says the telegraph lines were the primary communications method established for use by railroads for company business communications. Public telegraph messages were also handled, for a price, but the real reason for their existence was the business communications of the railroads. The poles and wires ran along the edge of the track right-of-way. For where they ran, find old railroad maps for the area of interest. While placing flowers on my mother-in-laws grave, the name wilhite caught my eye and I walked the cemetery and copied as many as I could find, some of the Wilhite names were, 1.Noah, wife Mary Polly, 2.Michael, wife Mary C.(nee may have been Smith), 3.Thomas, 4.Frederick and wife Indiana, 5.Melvin, wife Maude, 6.Sherman, wife Corda, 7. Carl G. and wife Myrtle, 8.Ray and wife Leonona, 9.Leslie and wife Arrettie, 10.John R. and wife Anna B. 11. Lloyd wife Lois (nee) Shadley, 12.Jacob and wife Mary E. 13. Bertha (nee) Wilhite and husband Wesley Johnson 14.James W. and wife Octavia, 15. Lafe and wife Lieu, 16. Aaron and wife Fanny (nee) Pruitt I believe these Wilhites will evenually attach to mine, but have not done enough to connect them at this time but I hope it will help another reseacher. Caralyn
