This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------A6932294D74FBD08466C69C5 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Ken, Thanks so much for your response and the extensive Wilhite lineage. Thanks to you I now have several new surnames to research. If you have this on your computer could you please send me all the direct ancestors of Adam Wilhite in GED or FTW format it would save me some rekeying of what you have obviously been working on for some time (i.e. Broyles, Walke, Mueller, etc.). I am posting your response to the Cate and Wilhite lists. I have received several direct queries about the Wilhite/Cate ancestry, it seems this is fairly new info. 1. FROM LISTOWNER: Time to Prod All You Users Again
    2. George W. Durman
    3. Just a "little" prod (nudge) here to remind all of you users that RootsWeb stays in business ONLY due to contributions/subscriptions by users. I KNOW! You probably get tired of hearing the same old song and dance routine every 6-8 weeks; however, keep in mind that we users get to use the fantastic services of RootsWeb FREE !!!!! It doesn't cost a user one red cent to subscribe to as many Lists as he/she desires. But, someone has to "pay the piper". Brian and Karen, the "owners" of RootsWeb shell out megabucks from their pockets, just for the privilege of providing a place for us to discuss genealogy. Over 95% of the costs of maintaining the servers comes from direct contributions. If you feel a little generous, you might consider logging on to the RootsWeb site and finding out about what you, as a thankful user, can do to help. Here is the URL: http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/how-to-subscribe.html If you can't afford the minimum contribution, just send RootsWeb what- ever you can afford right now. Any and all contributions are appreciated. Let me tell you that the "donations" that we Listowners pay for the "privilege" of hosting these Mailing Lists are only a drop in the bucket when it comes to the actual costs of running RootsWeb. If there is anyone out there who has "hit the lottery" lately, how about a million or two? (VERY BIG GRIN) If you can afford $2 per month, then $24 per year shouldn't bother most of you that much. To paraphrase Brian, I see message after message where users talk about all the programs they use, programs that are very expensive to register. If we would just take a step back and look at what we spend on software for our "hobby", I think we would see that out of the hundreds of dollars we shell out each year for these programs, we could put a little aside for RootsWeb. After all, if it weren't for RootsWeb, we wouldn't need all those expensive software programs. PLEASE, don't send any "flames" about this message back to the Lists. If you MUST criticize or disagree, send to me privately. My email address is in the FROM: line at the beginning of this email. Regards, SgtGeorge Listowner

    3. I have just completed moving the BROYLES/BRILES Family History pages from Concentric Net to RootsWeb. I would appreciate it if any of you who have the time can log on to the new address and surf around a little to see if I have all the links changed appropriately. At the top of the new home page is a short note about the move and a "mailto:" link to click on to send me an email if you find anything that doesn't work. Let me know if you find anything amiss. I have removed the "Music Jukebox" since it doesn't seem to work on RootsWeb. If we can figure out how to make it work, I'll add it back to the home page. The new address is: http://http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~george/index.shtml Please note that the home page file ends in ".shtml", not ".html". 1. WILHITEs in Knox County, TN
    2. Rob & Heather Williams
    3. Hi Terri, This is a collateral line of mine. I am related to it through an extension of the CATE line. I also have a Maria WILHITE, born about 1790 in Knox County, TN on another line of mine who married William BOWEN. The family later removed to Russellville, Alabama. I was hoping that all these WILHITEs in Knox county would give me a clue as to who Maria belongs to. I don't think the WILHITE name is that common, so to have two seperate occurances in early Knox county at the same time seemed a little remote. I'd like to think that Maria WILHITE was related to them somehow. Just don't have anybody who recognizes her or has her on a family list. Appreciate the info. Let me know if you have any other ideas. 3. Dear Sharon; I have looked through my files and I have 1 Nancy. She married a George Jones. She would have been born circa 1832/1842. She was also born in Olney, Illinois. Her father was Madison Willhite, Mother was Susan Stewart. They were married in 1832 ( Madison and Susan). All I have. 3. Caroline, I have no information on your Minnie Wilhite. My husbands line has both Willhite's & Totten's. His Willhite's were for the most part from Stone Cty., MO. The little information that I have on the Totten's places them in IL. Is there a connection between us? I would be happy to share what little information I have with you. Maybelle Allen

    2. I am looking for information on my ggGandmother, Minnie Wilhite. I don't have a lot of information on her, but this is what I do have. Minnie WILHITE, born abt 1858 (place unknown). She married William Wayfair EATON. He was born in Sep 1858 in Iowa and died in Bonners Ferry, Border, Idaho. Would dearly appreciate any information on her. I have been looking for her for well over eight years and would love to start filling in her family. Sincerely, Caroline Totten
