Just found this URL for a transcription of the 1880 U.S. Federal Census New York Juvenile Asylum, New York, NY, from which many orphans were shipped throughout the country to new homes. http://www.outfitters.com/~isgs/1880nyja-n.html I found 2 boys named ASHLEY from MD, and 1 from NY.
