Hello, Isaiah WILCOXON b Nov 5, 1818 in Portsmouth, Scioto County, OH was the son of George Dent Hardy WILCOXON b Jun 8, 1788 in Broad River, SC and Anna HOSKINSON b Jan 14, 1792 in Bull Run, VA. (Anna was the daughter of Josiah HOSKINSON - a Revolutionary War veteran and Margaret SUMMERS). Isaiah married Jul 31, 1842 in Buffalo Grove, Ogle Co., IL Clarissa Ursula KELLOGG b Aug 15, 1824 in Jefferson County, NY. Isaiah and Clarissa had 5 children: Sarah Ann m Jacob BRUBAKER, Jr. George Ingalls m Sarah Alice FOOTE (our line) Joseph Kellogg d young Emeline Clarissa Nancy Elizabeth m Samuel Cephas POSTHEWAIT. Isaiah had a brother, Thomas D. H. WILCOXON. The migration of the WILCOXON family was from Broad River, SC to Washington Township/Portsmouth, Scioto County, OH to Polo/Buffalo Grove, Ogle Co., IL to Belle Plaine, Benton Co., IA and Tama Co., IA to St. Croix Co., WI, to Cheyenne, WY to Denver, CO. I am stuck on the parents of George Dent Hardy WILCOXON. In the family tradition, the sons are given the middle name of a surname of an ancestor. George Ingalls was named after his maternal grandmother's maiden name. My father-in-law was named after his mother's maiden name. This leads me to believe that DENT and HARDY are surnames of ancestors. I have information that the family is also related to CALVERT. Any help would be appreciated.
