Dear Researchers, My WILCCOX line comes from JONES Co/CRAVEN Co, NC about 1725. The name WILCOX in my line has been spelled WILCOCKS, WILLCOX and WILCOX. Common names are THOMAS, JOHN, BENJAMIN, STEPHEN WILLIAM and GEORGE. I have much land info and wills but no parents of 1st JOHN WILCOCKS who died Craven Co, Nc 1761. Hoping that soemone connects- JOHN WILCOCKS,b 1725 ?/ d. 1761 Craven Co, NC; married JANE ? He leaves daughter ANN; sonns: BENJAMIN, THOMAS , STEPHEN and Grandson JOHN. ( by will) Possible brothers to 1st JOHN- Dr . STEPHEN WILCOCKS, WILLIAM WILCOCKS, and THOMAS WILCOCKS, all of Craven Co, NC Gen 2 BENJAMIN WILCOX, b 1755, NC/died Jan 31, 1825, NC; married MARY ? In his will dated 1826 he leaves: wefe MARY; children: JOHN , WILLIAM, THOMAS, GEORGE; daughter NANCY( who married a WOOD) GEN 3 JOHN WILCOX, son of Benj., born 1783, NC/died 1859 GAdsden Co, FL. He married JANE SHELFER. According to records, JOHN WILCOX moved into LAurens Co, Ga and then in 1833 sold land there to MOses Green. According to GAdsden Co, Fl records,JOHN WILCOX bought land in Gadsden Co, FL 1833. Children: BENJAMIN, 1822, NC; JAMES "Jimmie", 1812, NC; GEORGE,1818, NC; JOHN S., 1819, NC; NANCY ELEANOR, 1821, NC; PHOEBE; POLLY; EVERETT AUGUSTUS, 1827, Lawrence City, GA; EDWARD M., 1823. These WILCOXES stayed in FL except for BENJAMIN and JAMES. They came into TX. GEn 4- JAMES "JIMMIE, married Missouri Culbertson, GA. Children: MISSOURI, 1840, GA; 1850 James and new wife MARY with JOHN THOMAS, 1842, FL; JAMES E., 1844, FL; BENJAMIN, 1849, FL JOHN THOMAS is my ggggrandfather.
