Through another list I'm on, I found this very interesting site called "Making of America". It is through the University of Michigan, and is a collection of online books and journals that you can search. Type in a surname, event, War, product, etc., and it will take you to the appropriate page in the book that you can read online. The collection is 1,600 books and 50,000 journal articles. Looks like most are from the 1800's. Very interesting old newspapers. It's worth taking a look at.
