Vancouver, WA, The Herald, 1997-7-2 Eugene H. Wilcox, age 74, died Saturday, June 14, in Vancouver, Washington. He was born April 30, 1923, in Glendive, Mont., to Eugene and Gunda Wilcox. The family moved to Seattle in 1924 and settled in Alderwood Manor in 1926. Mr. Wilcox attended Alderwood Manor Grade School and graduated from Edmonds High School in 1941. He entered the U. S. Navy in 1943 and served on the USS Nassau, retiring as Chief Petty Officer in 1965. He lived in California until 1987 when he and his wife moved to Vancouver. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Fleet Reserve Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie in 1996, and by his parents, three sisters and a brother. He is survived by his daughters, Lori Wilcox of Vancouver and Kelly Hawkins of Mommouth Lakes, Calif., a sister, Lorraine Ross o Port Angeles; two brothers, Al of Edmonds and Harold of Richmond Beach; and three grandchildren. At his request, no services were held.
