Married at Torrington, Litchfield county, Conn. 9/13/1762, Mary, dau. of Captain Ebenezer Coe of Durham and his wife (Jane Elmer). Asahel lived at Torrington where his children were born. See Orcutt's "History of Torrington"; "Robert Coe, Puritan" and "Early Conn. marriages" Vol. 7. Other than the data below the complier has no furthur information concerning Asahel's large family. Without a doubt several of his sons married and left numerous descendants. They must have all emigrated from Torrington at an early date. The only definate clues we have as to where they went is found in "Annals of Onedia County", N.Y. where Asahel Wilcox "of Torrington" (either No. 108 or No. 344) is mentioned as a settler at Vernon, N.Y., in 1799. "Churchill genealogy", mentions Asahel, No. 344 and his wife Lucy Crittenden as parents of Emily Wilcox, who m a Churchill and died at Richfield, O in 1879. Children: 339. Sarah, b 12/8/1762 340.
