Charley, it appears that the Wilcox lines in Kentucky are heavy in the Wilcoxson lines, not the Wilcox lines. I spent a day at the national archives a few years ago, working with the War of 1812 records. One of the things I noticed is the physical description of many of the KY lines was different from the New England ones. Many dark and ruddy complexions, whereas the NE ones, descendants of the RI groups were fairer. Just a thought. Sharon

Sharon: Thanks for the input - your description of my line of Wilcoxes fits to a "T". Great grandfather was 6 - 2" about 190 dark completed and "a lot" of real black hair - several of his sons also fit that description. Right now I am just "grasping" at straws - I zeroed in on the William Wilcox from RI because of his birth date. Our KY William was born in 1744, Charley F. Wilcox
