I recently noticed a reference to a John Lewis Wilcox in OH by Claudia Hughes . I descend from an Ephraim Wilcox b.Mar. 1, 1794 (poss. NY) and d. Oct 3, 1859 in Kent Co. Ontario Canada. He married Susan Benjamin of NY Apr. 6, 1816. His children - were all but one born in NY - Rochester area.: Descendants of Ephraim Wilcox Generation No. 1 1. The funeral service was conducted at the home of her daughter, Mrs. N. Simpson, Lot 2 Conc. 3, Camden Gore, on Sunday afternoon last by Rev. A. W. Barker B.D., after which internment took place in the Dresden cemetery. The deceased was twice married, her first husband, being Wm. Wilcox near Louisville, and her second husband was the late John Smuck, of Tupperville. The following children are left to mourn her loss, Mrs. N. Simpson, Camden, with whom she had made her home for the past four years, Mrs. Joseph Rowe, of Owendale, Mich., John Wilcox, of Tupperville and Ed. Wilcox, in Michigan. Charles (Lewis) Wilcox had a son John Lewis Wilcox born in Canada on Nov. 21, 1849 d. May 7, 1923 Canada. He is my ancestor. The name Lewis occurs in my family line of Ephraim. We do not know what happened to Ephraim's son John b. 1817. He disappeared from our records. I am looking for help in finding Ephraim's ancestry, but also in tracking down John.
