This may be a long shot, but I have a gggrandfather, Welcome Wilcox, born 1807 in NY (according to census). I don't know where he was born or who his parents were. First official record is his buying land from the Holland Purchase in 1826, when he was only 19. He is married ? by 1829, when his first son Ransom, was born. He married Harriet Calkins, born 1809 - her father was Matthias Calkins, mother Anna Utter. Matthias was in Aurelius, Cayuga County, NY in the 1820 census, was in Warsaw, Wyoming Co, NY by 1830, and by ages, I think Welcome Harriet and Ransom were also lving with him.
