Philomen WILCOX b.2 Sept. 1760, Killingworth, Ct. Now for the mystery: I believe that my 4th ggrandfather, David WILCOX was also the son of Giles WILCOX. Our family lore says that David and two brothers settled in the area of Crown Point, NY. David's wife is unknown, but he had the following children that I know of (birthplace unknown ) David Jr. b.?, m. Naomi MUNN 11 Feb. 1799 in Bridport, eventually settled in the Rochester area, possibly a daughter Sarah, and three other sons who emigrated to Canada - my ggggrandffather,Amasa WILCOX b. 30 Dec. 1781, Dyer WILCOX b. 1789 or 91, and Robert WILCOX b. 29 Dec. 1796. I have just received a copy of a letter which is in the WILCOX FAMILY GENEALOGY FILE at the Penfield Foundation, Crown Point, undated and unsigned, but obviously written many years ago by a descendant of James WILCOX. The writer says "Three Wilcox brothers came to Vermont before the Revolutionary War - named Abner, David and James. Abner was a tax collector and was murdered for the money" The letter goes on to detail more about the James WILCOX family which supports the above information which shows up on the net. Does anyone have anything further on this family? I am wondering if Philomen could have had David as a second name and gone by that name, or if there was in fact a child of Giles and Lydia named David, who so far just hasn't shown up anywhere except in my information. Thanks for any help you can give Anne Powell
