    1. [WILCOX] Wilcox building in Knoxville, TN & relations of Nathan W. Wilcox
    2. I am new to the list, but not to genealogy. My line, as I've tracked it, seems unrelated to every other Wilcox I've had contact with (besides my brother, of course). And since neither of us has had our own kids (and are not in the child-rearing ages any more), we are the end of our line. Anyway, I am searching for information on an alleged building at the University Of Tennesee, Knoxville, that was designed by my great-great-grandfather Nathan Wilcox (who lived in Nashville, but had a business in Clarksville) sometime between 1864 and 1891. Does anyone know of it? The rest of this line is as follows: Nathan (husband of Irene Freeman, married in Jefferson County, NY, 1848) and brother Calvin lived in Michigan, after leaving NY & before Nathan moved to Iowa where he joined the GAR to serve in the Civil War. Nathan and Calvin were the sons of Peter and Mary Wilcox, who lived in Jefferson County between 1840 & 1850, then seemed to disappear. I am trying to learn where they went to, when they died & where they are buried. So far, no luck. Peter (born about 1800) is the brother of William, who allegedly stayed in New York. I don't know which brother was the older nor do I know if there are other siblings. I don't know their parents' names, either; there are a couple of William Wilcoxes in Jefferson County, NY that could be "mine" but I haven't found any notification of a brother "Peter" with those I've "found." I would welcome any leads on this. (Note to connect this line: Nathan's son, my great-grandfather, Edward Everett Wilcox (b: 1855), left Tenn. & went to Dallas, Texas where my grandfather was born of Edward's union with his first wife, Amanda Williford. My grandfather, Lee Alfred Wilcox, left Texas in the early 1900s & settled in Chicago where my father, Lee Roy Wilcox, was born in 1912.) Thanks for any help (or moral support), Jean Wilcox Hibben
