Karen: I am at a dead end with my William Willcocks/Wilcox born 1744/5. So when ever I see a post for a Wilcox born in the mid 1700's; I ask if your ancestor had a brother named William??? Have a good day to-day and a better day to-morrow and Happy Hunting. Charley F. Wilcox

Karen: His Rev War Records place him in Virginia June 1782 (Received final pay) - there in a Court Order for Nelson County made in 1782 in Lincoln County - ordering up to 300 acres to 40-50 people who could not afford to buy land - He appears on the Tax Rolls from 1784 to 1801 when he died. A cousin of mine in California says William Wilcox (3rd a grandson of Old William) stated on the 1880 Census of Cass County, MO. that his father Ezra (Old William's son) was born in NJ. These are the only clues we have as to his origin - I would appreciate your remembering me when ever you see a Willcocks who was born in the mid 1700's. Old William in a deposition given to Nelson County Court in 1799 said he was about 55 years old thus we think he was born ca 1744-45. Not too much for the last ten years is it?? Have a good day to-day and a better day to-morrow and Happy Hunting. Charley F. Wilcox
