I am still fairly new to this site and only in the past week or so have I seen much from the WILCOX site. The following is what little I have on our family line. It has been said that we have Indian ancestry and that is why there may be little records of our family. Most of our records have come from the family Bible. The oldest ancestor I have record of for the Wilcox line is my gg-grandfather, EMANUEL HILL WILCOX. He was born Feb. 4, 1819, but we do not know where he was born. He married a MARY ELENOR JOHNSTON on Dec. 3, 1848 and we do not know where they were married. Mary was born Oct. 19, 1830 and we do not know where. Emanuel died Feb. 17, 1868 and Mary died about two weeks later on March 1, 1868. They had a son, my g-grandfather, JAMES WILLIAM WILCOX. James was born June 15, 1863, but we do not know where. He married a CLAUDIA VOCIAL DAVIS on July 22, 1894 in Indian Territory, Third Judicial Div. Claudia was born September 16, 1877 in Grosbeck, TX. James died in Oklahoma City, OK on Nov. 4, 1939 and Claudia died in Norman, OK in 1946. They are both buried in Noble, OK in the IOOF Cemetery. They had a son, my grandfather, CLAUD NEWTON WILCOX. He was born June 16, 1907 in Francis Oklahoma Territory. He married my grandmother, VIOLA VERA HENSON, in Sulphur, OK in 1940. Viola was born in Pink, OK on Feb. 22, 1918. Claude and Viola divorced when my father, HARLOW GENE WILCOX, was a baby. Claude moved to Bakersfield, CA at some point in time and that is where he passed away on March 19, 1981. If anyone has a connection to my family and/or might know of any descendents past Emanuel and Mary Elenor, I would surely appreciate any help I could get. Thank you, Tawnda L.
