Margi, My ancestor, Chauncey Wilcox was born in Ohio, after his family emigrated from New York state. Chauncey was born in the 1842-1844 range. He had seven siblings, among them an older brother Franklin. They both served in the Civil War, in the Sixth Wisconsin. Their parents were William Wilcox and Phylura Randall. I do not know if there may be a connection for you.
