PHOEBE WILCOX b-7-28-1756 d-6-16-1794 and I show her as married to a WILLIAM NOBLE b-1752 Simsbury (Hartford area),Ct. She was the daughter of Ezra and Mary (Humphrey) Wilcox. EZRA WILCOX b-1-10-1721 Hartford,Ct. d-4-30-1786 buried Dyer Cemetery,Canton,Ct who married 10-13-1757 to MARY HUMPHREY b-1724 d-9-2-1759 buried Dyer Cem. also. Thanks, Charlie, for responding; but my Phoebe is one generation earlier. According to the NEHGS's "Genealogies of CT Families," Vol. III, p. 232: 6. William³ Roberts (William,² John¹) was born Nov 20, 1736. He married Phoebe Wilcox about 1756, and lived in Canton. He lost his life in an attempt to cross the dam at Segur's Mill, at low water, about 1774. Their children were: i. William, Jr., d 1824; m. Margaret Merrill. ii. Martin, m. ________ Moses. They removed to the state of New York, and afterwards to the "far west." {Sybil Moses--JCH} iii. Phoebe, b 1761; d. 1837; m. Riverius Bidwell. They removed to Ohio when the youngest child was a little girl. iv. Lucina, d. 1816; m. David Taylor. Their children were: David, Sylvester Pomeroy, Edmund, Lucina, who m. Joel Bacon, Sally, Mindwell and Celestia. v. Reuben, d. 1789, unmarried. vi. Mindwell, b. 1769; d. 1833; m. Gurdon Humphrey. vii. Elizabeth, d. 1844; m. William Humphrey. viii. Asenath, m. Thomas Gleason. My Phoebe Wilcox, above, who married William Roberts, is my "mystery woman." She is not included in Martha Scott Osborne's comprehensive 3-volume compilation, "WILCOX/WILCOXSON FAMILIES of NEW ENGLAND and THEIR DESCENDANTS," (Heritage Books, Inc.; Bowie, MD; 1993). So, I was hoping some astute soul on this, or the WILCOXSON-L might have my Phoebe, b. ca 1735-1740, in their notes, as part of their family.
