Joseph S. Palmer (1819-1892) was b. NY, moved to OH, married (Cynthia Parker) there 1845 and by 1847 had moved to IL. Briefly at Sugar Grove, Kane Co., and before 1850 was at Prairie Center, Ophir Twp., LaSalle Co. IL where he remained and died. He was a large & successful farmer of 600+ acres prominent & respected early settler of that place and had 7 children all b. PC. My Wilcox concern lies with his 2nd child daughter Azema. She was born at the farm 1849 and married there Sep 15, 1870 to Fred L. Kimmey. Of her four children only the 1st two survived infancy. These two children, sister and brother, Irene Kimmey and Homer Kimmey were b. 1874 & 1877 (Illinois?) and in the 1890's they married a brother and sister: John Wilcox (m. to Irene 1896) and Lydia Wilcox (m. to Homer 1897). Thus comes about the Kimmey & Wilcox names in my pursuit of the descendants of Azema Palmer wife of Fred L. Kimmey. 1 Joseph Snow Palmer b: Apr 29, 1819 Warsaw, Genesee Co., NY d: Jun 27, 1892 Prairie Center, Ophir Twp., LaSalle Co., IL Burial: Cemetery, Prairie Center, LaSalle Co., IL +Cynthia Parker b: Dec 15, 1823 Lower, CAN m: Dec 15, 1845 Harrisville, OH d: Jul 19, 1899 Ophir Twp., LaSalle Co., IL Burial: Prairie Cen.
