Have you looked in the 1850 and 1860 Ohio and Indiana censuses? If you find him in the census you can get his place of birth. Kent
Time for me to get my 2 cents worth in again. My great grandfather, John Dennis WILCOX was born about 1819 (don't know where). On February 29, 1852, he married Elizabeth S. ROCKWELL in Lorain Co., Ohio. He died on March 17, 1869, in Vincennes, Knox Co., Indiana. Any information (place of birth, parents, siblings, etc.) will be greatly appreciated. Tom in Michigan
Hello, Listers. My WILCOX, Samuel H. Wilcox, was born in LeRoy, Bradford County, PA in 1828, the son of Samuel Wilcox and Mary Moore. He is reported in the book _Biographical Record of Orange County, NY_ as having three brothers and two sisters. Samuel Sr. died in Bradford County, PA and the mother Mary remarried and supposedly had two more sons. I am trying to find out the names of the brothers and sisters. One sister was reported in the same source as living in Saguache, Colorado in the summer of 1895, but no name was given. Only Samuel H., this sister and one other sibling were reported living in 1895. Anybody have any leads? I have info about Samuel H. and his wife and children and will share. Thanks for any help. Beth C. St. Paul, MN
Tom Watkins, Do you have anything on the Pleasant WILCOX...Fanny ADAMS or Edward randolph WILCOX ...Mirah Ann REEVES line? Would like to hear from you. "Hello again Cousins!" Please forgive Mr. WILCOX his redundant postings, as he evidently is very new to family mail lists and how they operate. Have posted to him explaining that I was unsubscribing him, to provide him the opportunity of checking with someone more familiar to him, as to how family mail lists functioned. Vickie, My gggreat Uncle Jessie Colbert Willcox was from Marshall, Searcy Co., Arkansas. I do not have a T. A. Wilcox or a Sarah Thornton in my database but I don't have everything on his family. Check out my web site and look under Decendants of Joseph Levi Willcoxson. My gggrandfather Seth William Willcox was in Searcy Co. for a while also but then he moved up to Bald Knob, White Co., Arkansas. Seth was trampled to death by a run-away mule team in 1895. http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/w/i/l/Patricia-G-Wilcox/index.html Gayle Wilcox Vickie Lomon wrote: > Is anyone out there connected to a T. Most of you seem to have WIllcox connections who have gone to the States in 18th century. Does anyone have a relative, probably male, who arrived from Liverpool between 1837 and 1841who may have had a sister Louisa born about 1826 who stayed in the UK. Very much a long shot since I don't have a name but I've reached the point where ANY clue could help. Thanks you for your time Dr Anne Willcox University of Sheffield Safety Services
