Bonnie, Hi, I am a WILCOX list subscriber and got your message offering to do lookups for us. I can't find my Wilcox family. My GGrandfather's name was Everette. He was born in IN in 1854. I don't have his parents names although I do have pictures of them and his sister Dora, and brothers: Charlie, Frank, Henry, Oliver and Albert. According to a 1900 census, his parents were both born in Indiana also. If you can help me, I would really appreciate it. He married Belle Lawson and had 7 children in Missouri, where I think he died . I found his wife and the 4 youngest children in Colorado in the next census. Have a good day and thanks for your offer. Linda
Charley, My maiden name was Wilcox and I have been looking for my Dad's family for a long time. His GGrandfather was Everette and was born in IN. I don't know what his parents names were although I do have a picture of them as well as his brothers and sister Dora. His brothers names were Charlie, Henrie, Oliver, Frank and Albert. My GGrandfather, Everette (middle name may have been Edward) moved to Bates Co, MO after he was married and it was there he raised his family of 7 children. I have a census record in 1900 where I lost him. I presume he died there because I found his wife, Belle, in Colorado 10 years later with the 4 youngest children. If you think you have a connection, please write me. I don't have, as yet, any Issacs in the family but maybe after some more research, if I find him, I will be sure to let you know. If you don't think there is a connection don't bother replying, I don't want to waste any more of your time, but I sure hope there is. I'd love to hear from you. My GGrandfather's parents were both born in IN also and my Gfather was a twin. Any twins in your family? Everett was born in 1854 Thanks for your time and I wish you happy hunting on your Issac. Linda

Hello: I am a new "Wilcox" on the List. My line is that of "Rev. Isaac Wilcox". Isaac was born 25 Nov. 1809 in KY (I do not know where-Ky is given on the 1880 Census) Isaac married to Sarah Ann Duncan on 16 Dec. 1828 in Mooresville, Morgan Co., IN. (Per Sarah's Obit) Isaac died 29 Jan. 1886 at Adrain, Bates Co., MO. and is buried at Crescent Hill Cemetery. I need help in finding his parents and place of birth. I have a lot of data on his descendants that I am willing to share. Charley F. Bonnie at [email protected], Tonight, I tried responding to your message to me from Tuesday, but your e-mail address kicked out. Can you please contact me again? Thanks! Hi everybody! I'm trying to trace Abel Wilcox, s/o Henry & Nancy. On the 1860 IL Lake Co. Census, Vernon Township, he is listed as 27 & living with Henry & Nancy Wilcox. Henry Wilcox is listed as 58 & born in VT, Nancy as 57 & born in NY, all children born in NY. By the 1870 census, Abel has married Belle (Isabella Van Horn(e)) and has 3 children. Any help with where in NY the children were born, and Henry's lineage? Trying to link up with my line, which is Stephen Wilcox's RI>NY, but some to VT. Thanks! If any one has access to Wulfeck's book would they be so kind as to tell me the information on page 66 on HIRAM WILCOX I have no access to a library with the book I have determined that the Hiram mentioned on pages 43-70 and 100 is not my Hiram. The information I have says that the Hiram on page 66 is from another line. Maybe mine??? Mary Russell [email protected]

Hi Ruth, Yes, I would like to have the most wanted list posted angain once a month. My EMail address is correct. Thank you so much for your dedicated work. Janet.
Great offer of help to do look ups in the 1880 census on the Wilcox surnames. What states do you have? Sharon
I have received so many requests for WILCOX census lookups. If it is agreeable I would like to post it to the list by state. So far NY, PA, WI, IL, OH, MI are available. If this is not appropriate to post to the entire group please let me know. Thank you, Bonnie [email protected]
Bonnie, Thanks for your look-up offer in the 1880 Census. I am looking for any WILCOX in the Schuyler County, Illinois index. Thanks again, Chris
Hi Ruth, I would LOVE to see the "Most Wanted List" again....it sure has grown since the last time. I have yet to make a connection, but I have corresponded with quite a few different WILCOX descendants -- either they were trying to help me or vice versa. I missed it while it was gone. I would like to correct the name in the parentheses for the following: >WILCOX (WILICOCKS), Sophia; 1805-1832; NY>Vaughan ON CAN; m. Washington >PECK; [email protected] Please change from WILICOCKS to WILCOCKS -- without that extra "I". Thanks for all of your work for the WILCOX list and newsgroup. Carolyn Schaeffer
I was wondering if you would like to have the "Most Wanted" send once a month again? Please let me know your wishes. Check to make sure your email address is correct.
