    2. Peter M. J. Hess
    3. Dear Colleagues, I have a copy of the death certificate of my great-great-grandmother, Helen Wilcox Littlejohn, who was born January 17th, 1828, in Whitesboro, New York. Her father is listed as Reubin Wilcox (birthplace uncertain as to whether Connecticut or New York state). Her mother is listed as Eliza White, born in New York state. That is all the information given on the birth certificate, and no more is known in our family about her. I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know whether either Helen or Reubin Wilcox figure in your records. Best wishes, Peter Hess

Another researcher and myself are curious as to whom this barge would have received it's name from. Does anyone know anything about MINOT J. WILCOX ? If so I'd be interested in hearing from you.

    2. What do you you know, finally a connection. Minot Wilcox is in my line. His picture hung for years in the Toledo, Ohio library. He descended from an old whaling and shipbuilding family. He was born in NYS and removed to Toledo, where other family members were involved with the shipping industry. He invested heavily in railroads and died quite wealthy. He had no offspring, and left the most of his estate to cousins. Anyone with Wilcox roots around Toledo, please contact me as I lost my gr gr grandfather John b 1778 in Ohio, south of Toledo. If you have other information regarding the ship Minot Wilcox, please contact me. Sharon

I lost my Email when I had to reload my online program when something went wrong. So I lost the addresses of these two people with whom I had corresponded. One for information on Desire Wilcox who was said to have been seen on a pedigree chart. I beleive the address began with 'prat. Another one was to get back to me about information on William Wilcox who md a Terrell woman in Ga and was later found in Cov Ms 1820 census. Later was in La. I beleive her name was Paula or Pauline. Please , get back to me....Mary

    2. Hi folks; Many of you have asked me about some of the Oneida County, NY names after one of my posting. I am in in the Wilcox not the Willcoxson line so I do not have much detailed information on the latter group unless they settled in the same towns as my lines. I found some of the Utica, Whitesboro and Oneida County documented in a good source. I copied it in the Utica library, and know it is also available in the Syracuse library and any good genealogy library focusing on NE and NY. The source you will want is Middletown Upper Houses. Pages 740-765. It will copy two pages to one copy. It includes Francis, Asahel, Levi, Ephraim, Isreal, Lumon , all of which settled in Upstate, NY. Other surnames included; Rogers, Davis, Bronson, Ranney, White, French, Crittenden, North, Porter, Campbell, Anyone connected to these upstate NY lines that are in the Wilcox/ Bacon lines, please contact me. I am stuck on BACON. Sharon

    3. Hi Sharon, It has been quite some time since I last communicated with you, but your recent postings for Oneida County have prompted me to write again. I'm (still) looking for information on my g-g-g-grandparents, Heman and Eleanor Wilcox. I have little information on them other than that Heman was born in Oneida County, NY around 1804, and that he spent some of his married life in Oswego, NY. Their children included Simon, Francis, Florence (my g-g-grandfather), Edward, and Byron. I suspect Heman may have moved west after Eleanor died in 1853. The family isn't in the 1860 Census of NY, Florence enlisted in the 13th Wisconsin Infantry at Janesville, WI in 1861, and because his younger brother Edward was living in Alpena, MI when Florence died. I'm posting this to the entire list in case anyone has any additional information on the family. Thanks in advance. Dave Mosbruger

    3. I am really interested in the last item you have noted as Listing of other names in Oneida, especially Levi WILCOX, Jennie WILCOX and Benjamin WILCOX. My great great grandfather Levi WILCOX' parents were supposedly from NY according to a census I found. I cannot find anything past Levi himself, no parents, no siblings. He, himself, married in Illinois to Elizabeth ALKIRE and they did amongst their 12 children have a George Benjamin and a Jennie and felt that by checking this out might be just that lead I needed. Also how in the world is Asahel pronounced. I have seen it many a time but never gathered courage to ask how it is pronounced. My mother, a great granddaughter of Levi WILCOX, was named Isal. Any help you might be able to give me will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you.
