    3. One thing you have to remember when using the Ancestral files or any other files of genealocial records submitted by people is that some compliers are more careful than others and one should use the data to help them go to sources for authentication. 3. Now I'm really confused. Took a crack at the LDS Ancestry files and was pleasantly surprised to find Phebe Ashcraft married to William Willcocks. On the other hand, it has Phebe born in 1743 in England, William born in 1750 in England and dying in England around 1834??. It lists Phebe as his third wife with one issue, Rachel, has Phebe dying in Nelson CO, KY after 1802 (at least this is consistent with my data), lists a whole host of offspring by the 1st wife in England, and then inserts an unknown 2nd spouse between the 1st and Phebe (Phoebe). My data places William and Phoebe in Nelson County before 1791, when William's daughter Mary married James Rhodes (Rhoads/Roads). Mary may have been from a previous marriage due to her age as compared to Pheobe's issue, but her husband did participate in William's Estate when Phoebe relinquished her dower rights. Has any one else had this kind of problem with LDS Data???? Bill Thralls

It could be valuable to someone. Thought others might want to check it out. http://www.census-online.com/links/index.html#top Cindy H-MB

    3. Hello everyone! I have made some progress, and by posting, I am hoping to be able to either prove, or disprove my current working lineage. I can verify everything in bold using census, birth and death records. The remaining ancestors are those that I have gotten using previously published genealogies, which of course, I am in the process of verifying. If there is anyone on the list who can work with me on this line, I would love to hear from you. I have a lot of information on the siblings of these families as well. Thank you in advance.... 1. Calling All Abraham, Abram Wilcox's
    2. Barbara Cole
    3. I have hit such a brick wall on my Abram Wilcox born July 4, 1815. (Butler) OHIO. This info I know from a Bible and a census in I870 in Jones, Iowa . He was married in Jones, Iowa in 1869. It could be a second family. I do not know. She was Betsey Ann CURVO MITCHELL from Rutland VT. born 1833 at Ft.Ticonderoga, Essex, NY. He died in 1892 in Carroll, Wayne, Nebraska. I thought that his parents were from NJ because there are Wilcox's from NJ in Butler Co in 1800's, I can not prove anywhere that an Abram born 1815 was the son of any of the 6 men living there. After watching the Wilcox rootsweb inquires there is Wilcox's in many of the places he resided and from NY where Betsey Curvo was from. There must be a connection somewhere. I do not know where he was from 1815-1869. That is why I am calling on all Abram Wilcox's that you all know about. I want to know where they all are so that I can check them out. Thank you sincerely, Barbara Cole send letters to:[email protected]

    3. I am the grandaughter of Orson Horton Wilcox, born 8 Nov 1883 in Montevideo, MN, married May Hill in Deadwood, SD, and lived most of his life in Rapid City, SD. Died 1969 in Long Beach, CA. His siblings, of whom I have scant info: Ollis K. Wilcox a railroad man in Tacoma, WA; Nellie Marso of Highmore, Hyde County, SD; Adelle Warmer of LA; and Ella Baumhofer of Montevideo, MN. All deceased. Seek info on their descendants. His children: Marian Ada Wilcox Fletcher of Lima, Ohio; Betty May Wilcox Jayko of Plymouth, MA; Park Ranger Gale Hill Wilcox of Jackson Hole, WY; Lt. Col.(Air Force) George "Bob" Wilcox. All deceased, but one. Have his father, Horton Marshall Wilcox's 1928 obituary from Montevideo, MN. Would like info on his wife, Ada Cordelia King, born 29 Sept 1861 Sycamore, DeKalb, IL and died 1947 in Highmore, SD. HORTON MARSHALL WILCOX born 4 Sept 1854 in Ticonderoga, Essex County, New York. When he died in 1928, his siblings were CM Wilcox, Monticello, FL; CD Wilcox, Minneapolis; Bess Smith, Waupaca, WI. Would like to hear from their descendants. Seek info on parents of Horton Marshall Wilcox: Might be ELIJAH WILCOX born 3 April 1818, "in NY" died 26 Oct 1893 probably in MN, and Olive M. Bailey born 30 March 1820 "in NY" died 20 Feb 1905. Don't know where that info came from. If any of these names look familiar to you, would love to correspond. Mary [email protected]

    3. Hello, I'm New to this list. Picked up on a message from Wanda Ridge dated 17 Apr 97 reference William Willcocks (Wilcox) and Phoebe Ashcraft. This matches my information, except that I wasn't clear on the spelling. William is my ggggg gf. I did not know Phobe's last name (Ashcraft). William md. Phoebe June 13, 1791 (?) in Nelson Co. Ky., died in Nelson about 1802. They had at least 1 daughter, Mary Willcocks (wilcox) data unknown, who married James Rhodes in Nelson Co, Ky. James and Mary had at least one daughter, Ann Matilda Rhodes, b. 1810 in Lebanon, Ky, d. 24 Feb 1871/72 in Edina, Knox Co., MO. Ann married Jacob Richard Thralls in 1830 and had a very active love life. I just put a partial listing of the Thralls side on the Rhodes-L list if you are interested. I have very little info on William, Phoebe and Mary. Would appreciate any help, especially beyond William. Thanks, Bill Thralls
