    3. Hi everybody! Browsing around this AM, and there's a new Lincolnshire WorldGenWeb page, looks like it's up as of 7/5/98. http://www.rootsweb.com/~engwgw/linco.html They don't have any queries. Think we can help them out with that? Hehehe! ;-) Also, the Lincolnshire Family History Society has a page up. http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/lfhs/#Indexes Another thing: I got an inquiry on my Lake Co. pages from a researcher in Lincolnshire. He's looking for a surname in IL. I'll check what I can in Lake Co. Do we have any other Illinoisans on this list with access to records in other counties? I told him I'd trade research, and asked him a bunch of current questions about Edward (and John & William). I figure, if we can do him a good turn, maybe he can do us one? ;-) Happy Hunting! 3. Hello! Still here awaiting for a link to Harrison Clark Wilcox of Vinton Co., Ohio. This line is believed to have originated in Virginia/West Virginia. Also, found something interesting today. In a local restaurant here in Indianapolis there was an old sign from a business that read "E.W. Wilcox. Paints & Oil". Anyone have an E.W. in their lineage? I could get a photo if anyone would like it. -Jeanne

    3. I'm getting the same thing, and I'm *not* on AOL. I think the archives on Rootsweb are having some problems. A couple hours ago, I was in the middle of a search on GENMassachusetts-L archives and it stopped functioning. Got "Server may be down..." I'd already checked 8 postings, but it wouldn't give me #9. 3. I thought that since I would be gone a couple days attending my SINEX - WILCOX Family Reunion and if I posted my "most wanted" WILCOX that he might be waiting for me upon my return <grin> I am desperately researching/looking for my great great grandfather Levi WILCOX b. ca 1830 or a "few" years earlier since he married November 24, 1853 Menard County, Illinois to Elizabeth ALKIRE. They had 12 children - some proven, some unproven - and as follows: Catherine b 1855 called Kitty, Ada N. 1857 unproven, George Benjamin b. April 25, 1858 (my great grandfather), Alice b. 1865 proven, Ellen b. 1867 proven, Jennie b. 1868 proven, Nancy b. 1869 proven, Laura Z. 1871 proven, Charles Edward b. February 28, 1873, David b. 1876 unproven, Odelia called Delia b. 1876 proven, Arthur Alkire b. July 4, 1881 proven & shown as 12th child of Levi Wilcox & Elizabeth Alkire WILCOX and all their children were born in Illinois. One census indicated Levi was born in Indiana with his mother born Ohio and father born New York but cannot follow any lead. Elizabeth died here in Washington State in 1892/3 and Levi disappeared from Tacoma, Washington in or after 1896. He was shown here with daughter Odelia & son Arthur. Does anyone think I have a chance of having him here on Sunday? <grin> Thank you. Antoinette [email protected]

Son and parents traveled to Minnesota (according to Horton's obituary) where he married ADA CORDELIA KING (b 1861). Any leads on this family would be appreciated. Linda ([email protected])

    3. I'm here, Craig! Working on my French-Canadian lines. These people show up here, say "I'm from Canada," and that's it! Canada's a big place. Quebec is a big place. And I can't travel, right now, to places which might have the info. So I search on the 'Net.... I've gotten a lot of WILCOX inquiries recently off my genie pages, most of which I can't answer, because they're lines I don't follow. And, wouldn't you know it, I haven't been able to find anything on these people in "WILCOX/WILCOXSON Families..." either. So, I refer 'em to this list. ;-) Maybe I should cc: the list, instead of *hoping* the person will subscribe? No, I shouldn't do that w/o permission. Happy Hunting! 3. I'm here, Richard. But I've been away for a few days in colorful Colorado. I'm back in "Big Sky Country" now. Still trying to find the parents of Joel Wilcox who married Catharine Randall. They lived in Chester Town, Washington County, New York, when their son, Aaron, was born about 1802, and later moved to western New York, then to Palmyra, Lenawee County, Michigan, in the 1830s. Joel died there, and Catherine moved to Harrisburg, Fayette County, Indiana, during the 1840s. Apparently the land was jointly owned by George wilcoxen and Elizabeths father, Thomas Smith. I have info on Thomas.
