Hello I am researching the names of WILBURN/WILBOURNE in Derbyshire, England from the mid 1700s. For some reason the name WILBURN was used interchangably with WILBRAHAM. My ancestor was christened Paul WILBOURNE in North Wingfield, Derbyshire in 1789, the son of Thomas and Ann. He married in 1814 in North Wingfield to Mary ELLIOT, under the name WILBRAHAM. His children were christened under the name WILBRAHAM, but one was married under the name WILBOURNE. Some of Paul's cousins used the names WILBRAHAM and WILBOURNE interchangeably, making research very interesting! For many years I thought the two families were separate, but after many months of in depth research, I know they are the same people. Paul and most of his family emigrated to America in the 1840s, and he died in Philiadelphia in 1846. After his death some of his family returned to Derbyshire. If anyone else is researching this family I would be very pleased to hear from them! Thank you Valerie Chesterfield, Derbyshire
