Burrell Wilburn and Mary Lomax Wilburn, in Perry Co TN, right? Another researcher once posted that the Wilburns in Sussex Co VA were descendants of Thomas Welborn of Accomack Co VA. However, I could never see the connection. I think that she noted some land deeds were proof of this. But I always wondered about these naming patterns too. I do remember that there was a Richard Wilburn connected to this family. And there seems to be a Benjamin King that lived near these Wilburn families in Sussex Co VA. Which also made me wonder if there was any connection between Andrew Wilburn and his family who appear in Harrison Co IN in 1850 and who lived next to a Benjamin King family and who also had some Wilburns living in the same household as King families. Or something like that. I do not have access to my paper files to review at this time. But there was also a Wallen family in Sussex Co Va at the same time as Wilburns..And my own family was allied with Wallens. And they also lived next to Burrell King and his family in Claiborne Co TN in 1830. Lewis Wilburn b. 1802, was first cousin to Edward Burrell Wilburn...well, I could go on and on about these co-incidences. One final note...there was a Patterson Wilburn (and in fact at least three such named men) But the Patterson Wilburn that I am referring to was b in 1821 in Giles, VA.....and later re-located to Carter Ky by 1850. Patterson Wilburn was the son of William Wilburn b. 1792. I cite this only because of the Wilburn and Patterson line in Sussex Co VA..And not because I have any proof of connections to Anne Patterson who also m a Wilburn in Sussex, VA. At any event, it was a pleasure to hear from you. Thanks for writing. Vikky
