That tells me you are serious about your research. Well Brenda you gave me quite a bit of information, that's good. Let me say that I'm still not certain there is a connection here, because the history that was handed down to us about my ancestors is that there were three brothers born into slavery in Macon. Georga, however, as a result of my research, I discovered there were a total of seven children. One of the seven children was named Solomon, however, their mother's name was Phyllis (according to the 1870 Census). No one ever knew her name or that there were other children. From what was handed down, the first three boys were by her first husband (I haven't been able to determine his name). As we know, during slavery, families were split from each other, so we don't know what could have happened to the family. What's more interesting is that you indicate your father lived in West Palm Beach, Florida form time to time. My Wilburn line is also in West Palm Beach, whom I was just introduced to two years ago. I also met a relative about two months ago as a result of this web site. That line is living in Chicago, so you see, we are all other the place. Since your Dad was born around 1917, his father could be a direct descendent of my Wilburns. You see, Phyllis and her children were found in the 1870 Census, but by that time they had migrated to Bronwood, Georgia. Three of her sons had been given as part of their plantation owner's daughter's dowery, and she and her husband (Mr. Whitaker) moved to Terrell County, Georgia. They went back later, and got their mother from Macon, Georgia. There is more, but I'll end it here for now. You see, that's why I don't want to rule you out as a relative. Let's keep trying to connect the dots.
