Hugh Jordan Wilburn's parents were Lewis Wilburn and Mary Bratton (Polly B) Jordan. Mary was the daughter of Sallie Chapman and Hugh Jordan. Lewis and Mary were married in Giles Co on October 29, 1830. Mary's obituary says that they had 12 children. I have found 11children: 4 boys and 7 girls. I was told that Lewis' parents were William Wilburn and Elizabeth Chapman. I have no proof of that yet. The 11 children of Lewis and Mary B. were (1)Harriet, (2) Angeline or Angelina, (3) Henrietta Virginia who married Lewis Bryant Rogers; (4) Hugh Jordan Wilburn who was married at least 4 times (my great-grandmother, Isabella Jane Holiday was his last wife); (5) Gordon Lewis Wilburn who died a daughter's home in East Beckley in 1930 (her married name was Farley). (6) William S Wilburn who married Rebecca Gautier; (7) Sarah who was born Dec 8, 1846, d. July 25, 1863 and is buried in Wilburn Cemetery in Giles! Co, VA. (8) Mary H who married Travis Burton; (9) Geroge Chapman Wilburn who married Josephine Meadows; (10) Rhoda J who married John H. Woods and (11) Eliza F who married James M. Turner, a widower in 1880 and (12) unknown.. George C built a house on his father's farms in front of the cabin his father Lewis built. George and Josie had 6 children Emmett Woodson, Houston, Lewis Jordan, Mary Gracie, Nellie Everett and Harry Glen. This information on George Chapman Wilburn came from Nellie's daughter.
